Repair Services:

  Are you wondering what we will work on?  Have a TV or computer that lighting buzzed during a thunderstorm?  We can fix that!   If you have anything listed below, or even something that's not listed below, give us a call!  I'll take a crack at just about anything....I may not always be able to fix it, but I'll sure give it a try!

   I am frequently asked if I will service phones & tablets, I do not.  They are not easy to get quality parts for!  The time involved plus the low success rate makes them not feasible for repair.  The same applies to game consoles.

Data Destruction Services:

  Are you a business or EDU with a pile of PC's, laptops, or loose hard disk drives with sensitive data on them that you don't know what to do with?  We can take care of that, offering certified data destruction services.
 

Two Levels of Data Destruction are offered:
 Either of these options will come with a document listing the device & serial numbers verifying data destruction.

Level one is an electronic wiping of the drive and then repurposing the drive if testing shows it to be in healthy state.

Level two is an electronic wiping of the drive, and then after that physically destroying the drive and sending the remains to the recycling center.  Photographs of the destroyed item(s) can be provided if the customer requests this be done.

Level 1: $9.95 per device
Level 2: $19.95 per device

E-Waste Management Services:

  Keeping tech out of landfills is one of my primary objectives!  If it can be refurbished/repaired and then re-homed, that's the best form of recycling there is; keep it functioning  & useful versus trashing & replacing.

  I am frequently asked if I accept CRT (tube-type) televisions & monitors.  I do accept them, but I can not take them free.  Unfortunately it costs me to properly dispose of them, and I have to charge a fee to accept them.  The fee depends on the size.  I do not accept appliances.  See table below for fee items.

  People also ask if I recycle in-house.  The answer to that depends on what type of item it is.  I dismantle in-house, separate the pieces and send them to the appropriate downstream facilities for proper disposal.  Good parts & pieces are rehomed, resold, or otherwise put back into service.  I am primarily a repair shop, but one of my favorite things to do is refurbish tech that everyone has written off as scrap.  I do not do any 'smelting' or other chemical processes used to recover precious metals such as gold or platinum.

  I am also asked now & then if I purchase items.  As a rule, no.  Broken & obsolete electronics really don't have any real-world value until they are serviced, upgraded, and/or refurbished.  If its deemed salvage, then it has to be dismantled & scrapped.  I have to spend money & time to do this, therefore I don't make any offers of payment for a device. 

Consumer, Commercial,  Educational Pick-Up Services:

  Are you a business or school with a pile of obsolete tech that seems to never stop growing?  Technology Junkyard is here to help; offering free local & regional pick-up for your obsolete tech!  Just give me a call and we'll work out the details.

   Sorry, but I do not offer free pick-up for consumer items.  While pick-up of consumer items can be arranged, it is not a free service in the consumer market for consumer items.  No disrespect to anyone, but after 33 years in tech I do not like working in people's houses.

  For any pick-up item, the item needs to be in a 'decommissioned' state; meaning it's unplugged/uninstalled and/or out-of-service; ready to be taken away.  Technology Junkyard will not take an item attached to a structure; such as a satellite dish on a roof or a TV / monitor mounted on a wall.
 

Items for Recycling with Fees:

   Unfortunately there are some items that cost me to properly dispose of, and thus I have to charge a fee to cover these costs.

  • Flat screen TV's (LCD or Plasma) in any condition - $20

  • CRT (Tube-Type) TV's & PC monitors 26" and smaller - $30

  • CRT (Tube-Type) Televisions 27" and larger - $50

  • DLP Projection TV's (any size) - $70

  • CRT (Tube-type) Projection TV's (any size) - $100

  • Commercial copiers & document centers - $40
